Getting to Kraków:
By plane
You can get to Kraków directly from many European cities (you can check the list of budget airlines here). You’ll arrive to Balice Airport which is situated 15 km far from Kraków. Then the best way to get to the city is to take the train to the main station (Kraków Główny) which costs 6 PLN (2 euros). At the station there will be somebody from our team waiting for you and will take you to the hostel.
From Katowice Airport
It is also possible to arrive to Katowice Airport (about 150 km from Kraków). From the Katowice Airport you can take the bus directly to Krakow or to the Katowice centre and then take the train to Kraków.
From Warsaw Airport
A convenient connection with Kraków is also from Warsaw Airport . From the airport you have to take a taxi (20 minutes), public bus no. 175 (timetable from Terminal T1, Terminal T2; bus stop of destination: “Dworzec Centralny”) which costs 4,20 PLN (1,5 euro) or private airport bus to reach the main train station Warszawa Centralna. At the Warsaw Airport, do NOT accept offers of a ride. If you want to take a taxi, go up to the airport departure section and take an arriving taxi with a phone number on the top. You can also ask a taxi driver for the approximate price before getting in. Do NOT take a taxi from the arrival level. If you want to go sightseeing in Warsaw, leave your luggage in a locker at the railway station.
From the train station in Warsaw there is a number of regular trains to Kraków. A price of the ticket to Kraków is 48 PLN for the second class place (a 5-hour travel). Inter City and Express trains cost about 90 PLN but you can reach Kraków in 3 hours. For the first class one has to pay 50% more. As it’s not always certain that people in ticket offices speak English, it’s advisable to ask young people for help with buying a ticket.
In Kraków you get off at the main station Kraków Główny (the only station for IC and Ex trains).
By train
You can get to Kraków by train from the following cities: Berlin, Bratislava, Bucuresti, Budapest, Dresden, Frankfurt (both), Kiev, Kosice, Lviv, Odessa, Praha and Wien. Of course you can also take a train from any Polish city – here is the schedule.
By bus
There are many international lines to Kraków. The biggest ones are Sindbad and Eurolines.
